IFI understands the importance of support. "Not a day goes by that we don't look at our daughter in happy amazement. We had been warned that children Lorelai's age (23 months) would require time and patience before they would open up to their new parents. However, after a couple of days of avoiding eye contact, Lorelai burst from her cocoon with a big grin and an insatiable desire to learn everything she could about her new home.
I marvel at what her future will be like. There are so many uncertainties, and life can be difficult as well as amazing. After going through many challenges in life, we were blessed to have Shreya be a part of our family in May 2007. Our life now revolves completely around her and we can't think of doing anything which doesn't involve her. We were lucky to have the support and guidance of Dr. Rao and Mrs. Rao who helped us navigate the formalities of the adoption process. Throughout the proceeding we bothered them with numerous questions and concerns but they always got back to to us with answers and comforting words. It was definitely worth the wait to finally have Shreya join us last year - we can't say enough to show our appreciation to everyone at IFI for making this happen.
